Why ASPEX?

Space is no longer a technological luxury. It has become a strategic infrastructure, essential to the sovereignty, security, governance and sustainable development of nations.

In Africa, needs are clear and immediate: agriculture and climate, security and resilience, connectivity, land use planning, finance, public governance.

Space itself represents an opportunity for job creation and wealth through improved telecommunications and its derived products and services, and geolocation for more precise navigation and positioning.

Capabilities exist

Technologies are available and talents are there.

Missing infrastructure

What was missing was a continental infrastructure capable of structuring action.

The ASPEX solution

What is Africa Space Expo?

Technologie spatiale

Africa Space Expo (ASPEX) is the continental reference infrastructure where African space solutions are built, negotiated, and deployed. Carried by the African Union through the African Space Agency (AfSA), it is the only pan-African infrastructure dedicated to turning spatial potential into concrete economic opportunities.

Strategic positioning

ASPEX is the reference infrastructure for African space business.

A space for decision, structuring, and execution where markets, partnerships, and the continent's space solutions are built in concrete terms. ASPEX is:

  • the structured business platform focused on results and contracting,
  • the accelerator of applied space projects, grounded in African realities,
  • the continental hub connecting institutions, industry, and investors,
  • the operational framework for co-design, where high-impact economic and societal solutions emerge.

Here, dynamics align, decisions are made, and projects roll out. ASPEX structures. ASPEX builds. ASPEX delivers.

Action Infrastructure

ASPEX is an accelerator of deployment and contracting at continental scale. Join the infrastructure where Africa's space business is organized. Here, intentions become decisions, conversations become partnerships, and ambitions become concrete commitments.

Partnerships & Projects

Develop and strengthen partnerships, initiate operational projects. At ASPEX, African space is decided, built, and deployed.

Innovation & Impact

Put space innovation and concrete applications at the service of sustainable development and African sovereignty.

A clear vision

Strategic lever

Make space a strategic African lever

Economic sector

A structured and credible economic sector

Concrete tool

A concrete tool serving states, companies, territories and populations

ASPEX positions Africa not as a passive market, but as an actor capable of designing, negotiating, financing and deploying its own space capabilities, in balanced partnership with the rest of the world.
